Teams Nomads will be running 4 teams this year playing in Hong Kong RFU Divisions 2, 3, 5, and Development League. Teams are selected by Head Coach Steve Jones and Club Captain Craig Wilson. Teams will be posted on this page after training on Wednesday night for the upcoming matches to be played on Saturday. Verizon Nomads 1st XV Next Game- Sat 29th Jan V HKFC, 6.00pm, HKFC The 1st XV this year are competing in the Hong Kong National Division 2. After much hard work, over a number of years, the team is now in a position where it regularly competes at the top end of the 2nd Division. Finishing 3rd in the 09/10 season the 1st XV are looking to secure the top spot this season before moving up to join Hong Kongs elite next year in the 1st Division. Coached by Steve Jones and captained by Craig Wilson this season look to be a big one for the Nomads 1st XV. | Macau Nomads XV Next Game- Sat 29th Jan V Gai Wu J, 4.30, THT Arguably the clubs most exciting team for the coming season Macau Nomads are a combination of last years Nomads 2nd XV and players from Macau R.F.C with whom the Nomads recently announced a partnership. This team is a wonderfull demonstration of the progress Nomads have made in the past few years and the benefits of the partnerships Nomads have made. Allowing players from both clubs to compete at a high yet enjoyable level it will be intriguing to see how the team develops throughout the season. The Macau Nomads will be led this season by Jacky Hui, Jack Ng and Albert Wong. |
Nomads Mavericks Next Game- Sat 29th Jan V Police, 4pm, Police Club Having just missed out on the play offs last season the Mavericks will be looking to take things on step further this year. A team that could be called the heartbeat of the club, made up of players with 'real jobs', it is a mix of the old and the new in rugby terms where all are welcomed and encouraged to have fun. | Development XV After a stunning 09/10 season there is an air of excitement at Nomads to see if this years new recruits can live up to their predecessors. Having trained over the summer months on the hugely succesfull summer course the early signs are certainly promising. Guided again this season by Sam Cheung, and ably assisted by Wes Fusciali and Stephen Dowse, look out for development XV to again dominate. |
